My last term of classes have just ended. Dealing with special needs children is very fufilling and at times fustrating. At the end of each term, we always have a small party for the children and give them certificates for their efforts. In return, they make us cards or little gifts. That is where my problem starts. When you receive a picture like this....
it makes you go " awwwww...." Especially when you know it's extra hard for some of these kids to even hold a pencil. But my question is, what do you do when you get like, 50 of them? I don't have the heart to throw them out, and my fridge at home is only so big. More often than not, I paste them onto the notice board at our centre. Every ten weeks signals the end of term, which means I have to do this every 2 months or so. Of course there are some special pictures that I keep at home, pictures from children who have touched my heart in their own way.
When I first started this job, I wasn't sure if I was going to stay on. But after nearly a year, I think it's likely that I'll stay on.
