Life's a Beach
For some strange reason, I awoke with this longing to bring Zack the dog to the beach this morning. Even though I would have to travel half way round TLOTW to get there. The weather was good, slightly cloudy but with no hint of rain. So I packed up our stuff and called a good friend along. He too thought that I had lost my mind.
The beach was quiet, except for a family and some school kids playing games. We walked to the far end of the beach and settled down. It was only later that we realised that we had ventured into couple land. We were surrounded by couples making out, plus a threesome of gay men who were making out as well. Two of them were anyway. We had actually spotted them from a far but we thought the two men were actually a guy and his girlfriend ( we were VERY far away).
Zack, who is gay himself, seemed to be very attracted to the threesome. He kept wanting to go over to them but they seem scared of him ( all 4KG of him )so I kept him away. We had fun just chilling out on the sand, chasing his rubber ball and swimming. Usually when I bring him to the beach, I would wash him off at one of the outdoor shower stations. It just so happened that today, they had closed it for cleaning. So I had no choice but to bring him into the ladies since he was covered in sand.
There was a family with 4 children in there and for religious reasons they are not allowed to touch dogs. I made sure to stay far away from them, but they had taken up the entire bench and left me with nowhere to put my belongings. So I asked her to move her things and she gave me this really unnecessary lecture about how I shouldn't have brought Zack in. Even though I had told her the outdoor showers were closed. Now, TLOTW, being the multi-racial place that it is, I understood her stand from a religious point. What I didn't appreciate was her attitude towards me and her tone of voice. Not wanting to make a fuss, I bathed Zack as quickly as I could and got the hell out of there.
