* Warning, a very depressing post*
I was reading a book about World War 2. Now, I know that it happened more than 60 years ago but a recent viewing of "The Sound of Music" made me want to find out more about the war.
To spare everyone the horrible details, I shall just state that I was close to tears as I read how women, children and the elderly were killed. It was so sad, Hitler wanted all the Jews killed, and anyone else who was disabled, sick or weak. He called it "mercy killings" but there was nothing merciful about the way these people died. I still can't imagine how a person could kill so many of his fellow human beings and yet carry on living like nothing had happened. The pictures of the mass killings were so sad and quite disturbing, which is why I chose not to put any of them here. * There was a picture here but my stupid host server has disabled my account*P/S: On a happier note, Ralph the kitten was adopted yesterday!
